Il complesso riguarda la villa secentesca ed un parco di impianto ottocentesco, in adiacenza alla chiesetta Pellegriniana a pianta centrale. La villa fu fatta costruire intorno al 1660 dal Conte Giovanni Antonio Ferrario. Tale data risulta dalla tradizione riferita dagli attuali proprietari. Il Cappellini ("Desio e la sua Pieve", 1972) in capitoli diversi cita date diverse, cioè il 1676 (pag.305) e il 1688 (pag.297).
La famiglia dei Conti Ferrario mantenne la proprietà nel settecento; tale proprietario di certo risulta nel 1725, come documentato dall'Archivio di Stato di Milano, Censo e Comuni. Nell'ottocento subentra la famiglia dei Conti Buttafava, la cui genealogia risale alle Crociate. Data documentata è il 1858, quando Giovanni Buttafava richiese al comune di Desio la costruzione di un pozzo e gli fu risposto di provvedere con i suoi mezzi (Archivio di Desio 29/11/1858).
Sull'impianto secentesco originario della villa, un intervento ottocentesco le conferisce quella inconfondibile nota di gusto romantico che la caratterizza.

The complex concerns the seventeenth-century villa and a park of nineteenth-century plant, in nearness to the central plant Pellegrinian little church . The villa was made to build around 1660 from the Count Giovanni Anthony Ferrario. This date results from the tradition reported by the actual owners. The Cappellini (Desio and its Pieve, 1972) in different chapters quotes different dates, that is; 1676 (pag.305) and 1688 (pag.297).
The family of the Accounts Ferrario maintained the ownership in the '700th; such owner of certain it results in 1725, as documented by Public Records in Milan, Estate and Communes. In the eight hundred the family of the Accounts Buttafava takes over, whose genealogy it goes up again to the Crusades. Documented date is 1858, when Giovanni Buttafava required to the commune of Desio the construction of a well and answers him to provide with the his means (Record of Desio 29/11/1858). On the native seventeenth-century plant of the villa, a nineteenth-century intervention confers her that unmistakable note of romantic taste that characterizes her.
